Nairobi Traffic

Did you know traffic jam on Kenyan roads is among top ten in Africa, its actually top five(source=internet).Rush hour i believe starts at three in the afternoon, that's when many motorists start going back to their houses.By the time its six in the evening the roads are completely at a stand still commonly referred to as packing lot.You will find yourself on the same spot for almost thirty or even more minutes if unlucky.

But what is the main course of the major traffic jams in the city.I would argue that a major course of the traffic is actually round about's along major highways. This cause a major hold up because each side must come to a stand still in order to let another side to pass.We also have the traffic lights which are either not working or ignored(but they are always ignored, you would rarely find one that is not working. In a situation that traffic lights come on a round about, you will find that their are police who take over the works of the street lights. This bring even more confusion.
the police need to let the traffic lights do their jobs because when they are there and takeover people end up breaking the traffic rules while they watch.

Now the traffic gets worse when it is raining.Season like now the slightest pour and the city flood;the Chinese contractors did one on us; this becomes hell, you might leave the C.B.D at five but you will arrive at your house at eight or even later.
our Thika road floods like no one's business, the situation gets soo bad...

But this shouldnt get you down, when in traffic we have some cool shows on our radios that can make your evening untill you arrive at home or at your destination
